It also eliminates the need to have a technician onsite to install the bootable media into the system that must be booted. Using Acronis PXE Server considerably reduces the time required for booting multiple machines as compared to using bootable media. Acronis PXE Server allows booting machines over the network into Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Agent, Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Master Image Creator, or Windows Preinstallation Environment.Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Management Agent is a component that takes an image of the master system in the Windows environment under the administrator’s control through Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Management Console.Acronis Snap Deploy 5 OS Deploy Server (the deployment server) is a component that performs centralized hardware-independent deployment through the network with the help of Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Agents. When disconnected from the Acronis components, the console allows only for the installation of product components on remote machines and for the creation of bootable media. Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Management Console is an administrative tool for remote access to Acronis servers and Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Management Agent.I just signed up for a free trial of Norton Ghost to see if that will work. They all boot fine from their hard disk, I just can't get them to cooperate with live CDs or PXE booting. They are all using SAS hard disks (1 disk per server, so no RAID). The servers that work are IBM HS21 XM (type 7995), and the four servers that don't work are IBM HS21 (type 8853).

Starts booting from the CD (redirected ISO image) and the server resets immediately. With CloneZilla, these servers just boot-loop. So, I gave up on using Acronis for this task. I see the same result when booting from an Acronis boot CD. The other two also hard reset but only when the Acronis agent starts writing the disk image to the disk. On these four servers, one will not boot using PXE (starts booting the Acronis agent, then hard resets). Unfortunately, our support has lapsed and we don't the budget to renew it until next year. Now I really need to use it, but it is failing on four of my servers. We purchased Acronis Snap Deploy (with Universal Deploy) a few years ago and have been using it off and on with no issues until recently.
